Session fees

Private pay rates

My fees reflect almost 25 years of experience, specialized training, and a deliberately limited caseload that lets me give each client real attention.

Clinical supervision is contracted with agencies and group practices, with rates set by agreement. Learn about supervision.

Insurance

Using your insurance

I’m in network with a number of insurance plans through Alma and Headway. The simplest way to find out whether I’m in network with your plan is to look me up on either platform, which can also show your expected cost. Copays, deductibles, and coverage vary by plan, so I recommend checking your benefits before our first session.

A diagnosis is required

Insurance only covers care that meets the definition of medical necessity, which means assigning a mental health diagnosis.

Your insurer has access

Insurers may request treatment plans or session records as a condition of payment.

Your plan sets limits

Some plans limit how often you can be seen, for how long, or which kinds of treatment they will cover.

Private pay

Why some clients choose not to use insurance

  • More privacy, since no diagnosis or records go to an insurer

  • Session length and frequency are decided by us, not your plan

  • Therapy can focus on your goals, with or without a diagnosis

  • No interruptions in care because of insurance limits

Out-of-network benefits

I don’t provide superbills. If I’m not in network with your plan, sessions are private pay.

Good Faith Estimate

Under the federal No Surprises Act, if you are not using insurance you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of your expected costs. You can ask me for one at any time.
